Magnolia trees are beautiful plants found throughout the South. We're lucky in Florida to be surrounded by their glossy green leaves and beautiful fragrant flowers. Unfortunately, magnolia trees are prone to scaling. If the problem is severe enough, branches die and the tree is weakened which can severely slow growth. Our technicians at Falcon Lawn & Pest have the knowledge and expertise to eradicate scale as well as other common diseases and pests that threaten your landscape. We offer FREE inspections and will create a customized plan to fit the unique needs of your home and yard.

We aren't the only ones that crave sweets and salty snacks! A recent study from North Carolina State University revealed that ants in cities crave junk food, just like us. Ants that live on sidewalks in big cities have carbon isotope levels that more closely match those found in humans as a result of similar diets, while ants in parks have lower levels because they aren't eating primarily "human" foods. Suddenly, picnic cartoons of ants stealing our food are not so far-fetched!

Outside will be the place to be this weekend; hunting for Easter eggs, smoking brisket, or simply enjoying the beautiful weather. Unfortunately this picturesque setting is just as inviting to insects, particularly mosquitoes, whose season has begun unusually early this year thanks to the mild winter. We’ve put together a checklist to ensure these annoying parasites don’t put a damper on your holiday weekend.

·       Inspect your yard for any areas with standing water to discourage mosquito breeding.

·       Wear clothing that covers your arms and legs when outdoors.

·       Apply insect repellant containing DEET, IR3535, OLE or Picaridin on exposed skin.

Happy Passover and Happy Easter! We hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday weekend.
